Safeguarding children and adults at risk is central to living the gospel of love Christ gave us. St Andrew's Church and Toft Methodist Chapel are committed to the safeguarding and protection of all children, young people and adults within our church communities.
If you are concerned that someone you know is at risk of, or is being abused, or presents a risk to others, please speak to the Local Safeguarding Officer or one of the ministers in the first instance. Or if this is not appropriate refer the matter to the Local Authority Social Care Services or the Police without delay.

The Church in Toft consists of two seperate church bodies and therefore has two separate governance structures.
St Andrew's Church follows the Church of England House Of Bishop's Promoting a Safer Church policy as well as all the diocesan guidance on implementation, which can be found on the Diocese of Ely website.
Toft Methodist Chapel follows the Safeguarding Policy, Procedures and Guidance for the Methodist Church in Britain, about which further details can be found on the East Anglia District website.
Both churches will carefully select, train and support all those with any responsibility within the Church, in line with Safer Recruitment principles as recommended by their central church. Any safeguarding concern raised with any of the local contacts above will be dealt with through the appropriate channels.
